Saturday School’s Monthly Masterclasses are teacher-led, directly taught evening classes delivered live online. 

 

The content of each lesson is set out in advance and scheduled on our website, allowing students to book lessons based only on the content that they need.  Monthly Masterclasses are available early in the academic year to ensure students can gain our expert support as early as possible, preparing them for important unit assessments, prelims and of course, ensuring they are maintaining a high level of attainment from the very beginning of their National 5 or Higher course.

​Monthly Masterclasses are 90 minutes long which allows a deeper and more impactful learning experience compared to typical school periods.  A short break is schedules within the Masterclass to ensure students stay refreshed and engaged throughout.  Our fully qualified, GTCS-registered teachers will deliver high quality, interactive lessons on the set content for that evening, allowing time at the end for the all-important worked examples and exam level practice on the area which has been taught.

Students will also be left with additional recommendations of selected questions from SQA past papers, or our own exam-standard examples, which will allow them to further develop in the specified area beyond the lesson.  Sessions are also recorded and posted in a secure Google Classroom for repeat viewing.  This is also where students can gain access to our wealth of digital learning materials and can also contact our staff, anytime, day or night, for extra support.

Monthly Masterclasses allow students to master an area they may not yet have fully grasped, being re-taught to our unrivalled high standards by our expert staff.  Our content is also designed to support learners for what might be included in their prelims and to ensure they are fully aware of the SQA exam standards for each subject.

Our Masterclasses also offer students the opportunity to learn key content for the first time with us, in our supportive and secure learning environment, meaning that when it is introduced in school, they will have the advantage of prior knowledge, ability and confidence in what will be a familiar area of the course for them. 

Monthly Masterclasses also provide an opportunity to fill gaps in knowledge that students may have due to attendance or lack of contact time with their teachers.

Monthly Masterclasses are also the perfect prelude for students who plan to attend our in-person and hugely popular Weekly Lessons and Grade Booster Days.

The online evening sessions are available to studying SQA National 5 or Higher Biology, Chemistry, English, Human Biology, Maths or Physics.
